ACTIVITIES OF MDD MERHAMET

Through the activities of Merhamet carried out by 300 of its representatives and on the entire territory of Sweden, it was necessary to maintain the same goals and to come up with a new way of functioning which would be more effective and more manageable. The problem was that the burden of all the activities was carried on the shoulders of a small number of enthusiasts. Therefore, we set down to creating quality information base on Merhamet membership. This task also demanded an even greater devotion of the already mentioned group of people. Today, Merhamet of Sweden has:
- an information base of its members,
- an information base of scholarship sponsors,
- an information base of the representatives, which makes it easier to follow the activities of our members or scholarship sponsors, and to carry out the activities of Merhamet.

All this leads to more effective communication and managing of data. During a telephone conversation any member can get information about his activities in the course of the year. Therefore, much effort had been invested so that we could have, at our disposal, authentic and reliable information, and that we would be able to correspond to every member in our files who has taken part in Merhamet activities.

All the registered members of Merhamet receive mail directly, so that the activities of Merhamet could be carried out without its representatives. It has already been mentioned that our activities, classified according to months and years, undergo rigorous control - internal and those conducted by the inspection bureau of Sweden. Yearly activities are verified by the Assembly of Merhamet and all those who attend the assembly and are empowered to make decisions, offer suggestions for better work and, in that respect, replace the present enthusiasts with the new ones.

The work of Merhamet is based on some permanent activities:
- Scholarships for the children of Bosnia and Herzegovina without both parents,

and with periodical activities such as:
- Action Kurban drive,
- Action Iftars (breaking of the fast) in public kitchens,
- Action Summer for peoples kitchens, medical stuff and medicine.

Every member of Merhamet receives an annual report on all the activities and, with it, an invitation to assist Merhamet with the payment of the membership fee.
From those funds, expenses are paid and the cost of participation in emergency cases is covered. In this way it is possible to maintain the high percentage of efficiency of Merhamet activities.
